Mumbai Trip 2
11:55 PM
Mumbai city Rocks! I was wondering if i would do something different
this trip. So trip began with planning to go lavasa / Matheran etc ..
And with climate awesome for bike rides ... PS: If you were wondering
isn't rainy season bad for bike rides.. You are right .. But I love bike
rides in rain .. You can feel the wind, the rain on you and its a
awesome experience.. If you have never done this before.. Its worth it!!
Ok back to the planning phase.. So we plan to travel over weekend , leave Saturday early morning and come back by Sunday night.. Friday and Monday we would travel within Mumbai to eat, shop and party of-course..
Well as life goes, Things don't exactly happen as per your plans.. Mumbai trip was no exception to that. My trip started in Mumbai with a late night party at home and a long drive at 4 in morning from kalina to marine drive. A nice tea early morning at the local thela ended that night or to say the start of the morning. It was just perfect! So you can imagine how the first half of the next day went.. Sleep and sleep and more sleep. But then I wasn't there to just sleep so the day began. The plan was to go have lunch and then movie and some pub hopping.
We had food at this nice place "Blue Waters" in Andheri. Pretty good menu and food. Its worth a try. Movie was just a filler to spend the day. It was a once in life time experience. We decided, basically i decided that we should watch "shirin farad ki nikal padi". So we booked tickets and went in to watch. But within initial 15 mins we were irritated by the movie and wanted out. But i did not have the guts to watch another movie during the interval without paying tickets. But my friends just could not let me be alone so dragged me along to watch Expendibles.Thank god i was dragged out. This movie was so much better than the movie we planned for! The pub hopping went even better. It was just around the corner "Bora Bora". The crowd is young. Mostly kids .. Saying this makes me wonder how old have i turned! But its a nice place to enjoy drinks and decent music. There were 2 hot chicks walking around and my friends just could not get enough of them so this night ended as late as it gets. This night ended only at 3. Mumbai never sleeps but i do!
And plus i had the entire 3 days to do more. But the next day went lazy. Late breakfast at a local restaurant. If you are wondering way lazy . That's because I came back slept some more. But the day did not go waste. We went shopping to Linking Road in Bandra. And lunch at "Cafe Basilico". Had a mango cooler and a sandwich. Which was good so Food (7/10). Ambiance (7/10). Service (5/10) coz it was really slow. In general (7/10). I was all excited as there were a few soap opera stars were dining there.
Now for the shopping! It was the best.. I am not good with road shopping.. But my friend was.. He knows how to bargain and has a pretty good sense of style. So shopping was fun for once for me. I wish i could develop that skill. On second thought may be not.. That way i will always have company to shop ;)
I was dead by the time we finished shopping. But then shopping always gets me excited! Even though i was tired we got home freshened up and left for dinner and late night party. Dinner was at "UrbanTadka" in oshiwara. Not so great . Food was good and service really fast. But too much of crowd and the seating was not so comfortable. I would rate again (7/10) overall. Then we headed off to "Hawaian Shack". Its becoming my Favorite place to party in Mumbai. We had a blast with Hindi / English music and drinks. There was a guy who was so drunk and kept offering us drinks for free. My friends had a few. Guys just don't change. As long as the drinks are free they will happily take it. :) . This night ended up late again.
The next day we were to travel to lavasa as per our original plan by bikes. But we were so tired that we never woke up. By the time we opened our eyes it was too late. So woke up and went to meet a friend who had fallen sick. So we picked him up and took him for lunch at "5 Spice". Food was very good. I loved it! Chinese seems to be my fav! If i had to rate this one it would be (10/10). And the best it was followed by the famous Juhu's ice cream parlor "Natural Ice Cream" . I had 2 scoops of mango.. and ate little of anjir and sithaphal. Yummy! No ice cream tastes this good. After all that food it was time for some rest. We crashed at my freinds place and played a few card games. But it was time to leave so that we could go party again.
But when we left home, it started raining heavy. But that never stopped me. And my Friends were supportive enough to agree and take me in the rain on the bikes. And on way home we took a detour and went to "Bandstand". Its beautiful. Lots of couples and getting really cozy. Not a place for single's to go. But eating a garam bhutta and listening to the waves crash at your feet. Its peaceful. Somehow a beach always made me feel at peace and help me relax. we spent almost 4 - 5 hrs just sitting there and once in a while walking from one end to another. Time passes by so fast. Our dinner was thou left overs from 5 spice. And last night in mumbai kept me awake. So we watched a movie and ended my last night. Wow what a trip. Next day it was raining heavy so we just chilled at home and left for airport.
My Mumbai trips are worth every minute and it gives me the happiness that lasts for months. Wish i could live this life everyday. Happy traveling!
